A Chinese, white ware, ewer of an elegant double-gourd form and incised line delineations; from the Northern Song dynasty. Covered over-all, except for the base and inner foot, with a white glaze, which appears greenish where it has pooled. Dimension; 16cm tall. Condition; good over-all, with noticeable areas of missing glaze; a common problem of mis-fitting glaze amongst this type of early white-ware. Please ask for additional photos if required.

A Korean, white-glazed, bottle vase from the Joseon dynasty; C19th. This elegant vase is fully glazed, all-over, with a beautiful whitish glaze. Dimensions; approximately 24cm tall. Condition; good conditon; with kiln adherences to the foot, some minor glaze crawl, and age-related wear and scratches.

A finely potted, 'tortoiseshell', Jizhou bowl; Southern Song dynasty. Of conical form, covered inside and out with a dark brown glaze, which terminates just above the shallow and well-cut foot, and splashed with light brown suffusions to the exterior. Diameter, 12.5 cm Condition; Good. Free from damage or restoration.

A Chinese, Sancai glazed, bowl from the late Tang dynasty. The bowl well potted, with rounded sides rising from a short foot to an everted rim. Beautifully decorated with alternate bands of green, amber and white glaze, the indented foot of this bowl would suggest a dating of later in the Tang dynasty. Dimensions, 12.2 cm diameter. Condition; good overall, with some nibbles to the foot.

A rare Korean stoneware celadon 'bamboo' bowl, Goryeo dynasty, C12th. The exterior is moulded with multiple vertical ribs which are marked at intervals with pairs of horizontal incisions in imitation of bamboo...

A Northern Chinese, Cizhou-type, black glazed jar; C12-13th, Northern Song-Jin dynasty...

A Chinese, Henan, Cizhou-type black glazed bowl; C13-14th. The deep, rounded sides rising to a slightly everted rim, the interior covered in a black glaze decorated with two rows of closely spaced vertical russet stripes, while the slightly mottled black glaze on the exterior falls in an irregular line above the foot to expose the fine buff ware. A Chinese, Longquan kiln, celadon jar with incised geometrical decoration; Ming dynasty, C16th. Although rare in this small size, this jar has not been reduced, as there are traces of glaze on the mouth rim. Originally, it would have had a cover. Height; approximately 12 cm Condition; with some age-related wear. There is a discreet old restoration, where a 1.5 cm long chip has been reattached; it can be seen in the photo.

A Chinese, underglazed blue and white, lidded container with a scrolling floral decoration; late Ming dynasty. Likely, produced for the Japanese market for use as a kogo; incense container. Dimensions; approximately 6cm diameter. Condition; good, with some age-related wear and abrasions to the rim. Provenance; purchased from Peter Crabbe Antiques, 2005.

A sancai-glazed,foliate-rimmed, pottery dish from the Liao dynasty, of elongated barbed quatrefoil shape, the everted rim molded with a foliate scroll border glazed in amber, the interior impressed with three lotus blossoms in amber glaze, against a green ground molded with wave patterns, the unglazed base partially glazed in green and revealing a layer of white slip. A Korean cup-mouthed vase; Goryeo dynasty. Covered all-over with an olive-tinted, finely crackled, celadon glaze. The slightly recessed base has burnt reddish, in part, and there are some adherences of sand. Dimensions; 26.8 cm tall. Condition, I generally good condition; the glaze is nicely lustrous. There is an old repair to part of the mouth rim. There are a couple of abrasions to the foot rim.

A large, Korean, faceted brown jar; C18-19th, Joseon dynasty. This eleven-sided jar is unevely covered, all over, with a lustrous glaze, which pools to dark brown colour. This type of jar is often called a Honey Jar, referring to it's possible use. There are sand adherences to the outer base. Dimensions; 18.25 cm tall Condition; Good condition.

A Chinese, Zhangzhou kiln, dish with leaping-carp decoration in over-glazed polychrome, red, turquoise and green, enamels. Swatow ware and dating to the late Ming dynasty; circa 1600-1640. Dimensions; 38cm diameter. Condition; With age related wear. Glaze loss to the rim; which is common with this type of ware, due to the poorly fitting glaze, and some fritting. There is a very small spot of discolouration to the rim; probably caused by a corroded plate hanger.

A Korean, blue and white glazed, pear-shaped vase; Joseon dynasty, C18th. Sparingly decorated with an 'insects and flowers' design to the body of the vase, and elegantly rising, from it's wide foot, to form a piriform-shape. Dimensions; 15cm tall. Condition; age related scratches to the body of the vase, a rim chip, and two short hairlines to the rim. A small area of glaze skip to the neck of the vase.

A Korean, celadon glazed, brush washer with inlaid sanggam motifs of chrysanthemum, ruyi and scroll borders; Goryeo dynasty. C13-14th. This brush washer is fully glazed, appearing an attractive blue colour where the glaze pools, and rested on three kiln supports during firing; the remnants of which may be found to the outer base. Dimensions; 12.8cm diameter. Condition; with some age related wear, the mouth-rim with an old repair and associated hairline.

A Chinese, Cizhou-type, brown glazed wine bottle of a round shape; Jin to Yuan dynasty. Possibly from a kiln in Henan province. Dimensions; 19.5 cm tall. Condition; good condition with appropriate, age related, wear. A minor restoration to a lip chip.

A Chinese, straw glazed, ewer with splashed decoration to one side; Tang dynasty. Though a number of kilns produced similar ewers during the Tang dynasty, the conical spout and discreet pattern of chevrons, beneath the glaze, would point to it being a product of the Shouzhou kilns in Anhui province. Dimensions; 19.5 cm tall. Condition; In generally good condition, with age related wear. Notably, there is wear and abradation to the rim, and an associated hairline crack to the neck...

A carved wooden altarpiece of an enthroned Buddha. Probably Nepalese, and of an indeterminate age. Dimensions; 15.8 cm tall. Condition; It presents well, with nice patination and age related wear. The upper part of the carving has a crack to one side. Age related wear to the lacquer.
