SOLD - THANK YOU!
This mesmerizing Vintage Taxco Mexico sterling silver Spiral Sun brooch or pendant was created and is signed CII. A respected creator of quality Taxco silver but not much is known about them. All of the pieces I have seen from CII are very well made, original and are now commanding very good, stable prices and are collected. This piece was featured in a book on the topic (see below for details) A very nice example of engraving on this Spiral Sun brooch (the background is engraved) the detail is incredible.
Marked: CII MEXICO .925
Measurements. 51mm / 2" round. The piece is slightly concave.
Weight 27.65 grams.
Condition: excellent vintage condition, the only flaw is a scratch on the back as seen in the photograph.
The marker CII although a bit of a mystery is collectible as the quality of the work definitely warrants.
This Vintage Mexican Silver Spiral Sun brooch and pendant are featured in the book Mexican Silver Jewelry Details by Leslie Pina (Schiffer Books 2008) page 104, again on page 264 as an example of engraved work and again on page 279. Appears in other books on the topic as well.
Layaway always welcomed.
