SOLD - THANK YOU!
This is a really fantastic three-dimensional sterling silver and enamel Ladybug brooch signed JF Jeronimo Fuentes. The 3D enamel pieces by top artists of the day are more difficult to find then flat pieces. The enamel pattern on the bug is incredibly detailed and looking at this through a loop, it looks more like a stained glass window.
Jeronimo Fuentes worked for Margot van Voorhies as director of MARGOT DE TAXCO enamel shop after Sigfrido (Sigi) left the position. Some of his enamel pieces are from the original moulds used while at Margot de Taxco. Approx. 1978 on. This seems to me to be an earlier piece.
Marks: JF (conjoined) STERLING. MADE IN MEXICO. 925.
Measurements: 9.5mm / 1.365” longest point, 30mm / 1.2” widest point and approx. 7.8” highest point.
Weighs 6.57 grams.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition, slightest of enamel loss near her back left leg, minor surface wear only one noticeable is above her right eye.
