A vintage Taxco Mexico sterling silver figural bird brooch; with a tiny blue turquoise eye. Created by Isidro Garcia Pina who named his company MARICELA after his daughter in 1943 and closed in 1986. This is a light and playful brooch a simple yet beautiful outline of a bird with a blue turquoise eye and a cute little beak. NOTE this piece was hard to photograph and presents MUCH better in hand. There are no dark spots on the silver and the proportions look off in the photos but are actually spot on. Signed. Circa 1960.
