These vintage Taxco Sterling silver clip earrings by Miguel Melendez have crushed green stone inlay along with openwork in a camo pattern. Melendez is known for this type of work.

Marks: M inside a C. Taxco. Sterling. Eagle 3.

Measurements: 25.26mm | .99” round, 2.74mm thick (slightly concave).

Weight: approx. 5.10 grams each. Condition: Excellent vintage condition, clips work well and hold firm.

About Miguel Melendez via The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks (third edition) by Bille Hougart P 110.

Melendez was a known Silver Artist who began his career working for William Spratling at Taller de Las Delicias and after, for Los Castillo for many years before joining Margot at Margot de Taxco where he became silversmith workshop manager. He left Margot in 1953 to build his own firm.
