Vintage sterling silver Taxco Mexico brooch looks like a bow tie or a flower. A round ball in the center surrounded by 6 smaller balls if those are the flower bud/ center, the leaves are 6 on either side with three pointing up and three pointing down. Signed on the back, weight 7.99 grams.


Measurements: 27.83mm | 1.09” highest point, 40.51mm | 1.59” widest point, 5.46mm thick without the clasp.

Weight: 7.99 Grams.

Circa: 1950.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition with only the usual surface marks.

About Felipe Martinez via The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks (third edition) by Bille Hougart page 105. A former sculptor, Felipe MARTINEZ once worked with Hubert Harmon (see page 69-71) in the mid-1940’s. Martinez opened his own shop, Piedra y Plata (Stone and Silver) in 1950.
