SOLD - THANK YOU!
A PERFECT miniature work of art and of course it’s made by one of Taxco Mexico’s most respected, influential and talented silver master-artist ever Fred (Frederick W.) Davis (1880 - 1961). This box is perfect in every way. The hinges, all handmade are perfect, the top and bottom of the box touch as close to perfect, the tiny lip that holds the box closed is perfect and the proportions are also spot on. A domed-oval bezel set blue turquoise cabochon sits perfectly in the center of the top of the box. The shape, once one sees it, could not be any other. The tiny box has an even tinier bit of open space in the front right side corner where one would put a fingernail in to open the box. Signed as it should be. Circa 1940’s.
Marks FD. 925.
Measurements 27.24mm / 1.07" wide, 19.81mm / .77" deep, 15.12mm / .59" highest point.

Condition excellent vintage condition with no defects, only the usual very light surface wear mostly found on the bottom of the box.
Tarnish/ Polish Index: 1 - 5. A quick guide to the shine/ polish of a SILVER piece 1 = no shine through 5 = 100% polished no tarnish. This piece = 4.2 The box is polished to a shine. The only tarnish that remains is in the crevasses of the hinges. The patina, although shiny is very pleasing.
