This is a very rare projectile made from a stingray barb. It is 7 3/4" long. It was found in the Pacific Islands. It has beautiful patina. There is no damage or restoration. It is from the Dr. Raymond Thomas collection. I have only seen two of these in all my years of collecting. The other one is pictured on this site in my bone frame.

It is made from one of the most beautiful pieces of jade that I have seen. It is extremely translucent. It is thin and lightweight. Look at how evenly the jade is distributed...

This is a carved portrait of Christ in gem quality emerald from Columbia. It has been specific gravity tested. It originated from the Chivor mining area in Columbia which produced higher grade specimens than the Muzo or Coscuez areas. It dates to around the middle 1600's and shows no evidence of modern tool marks. It is 233.24 carats. It is 1 1/2" tall, 1/1/4" wide and 1" deep. The patina is beautiful. It is a fabulous hand or pocket piece. I don't know of another Christ carving in emerald...
