DESCRIPTION: Three colorful, vintage Chantolo (also known as Xantolo) masks, used in dance celebrations for Day of the Dead festivities in the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. These hand carved, brightly colored masks are painted in primary colors, each with barred teeth and fierce expression. Very good condition, wires have been attached to the backs for hanging. PROVENANCE: Bob Brand and Liz Werthan, Philadelphia. DIMENSIONS: Largest Size is 7" x 5" x 3" (18 x 13 x 8 cm).
