Impeccable sterling belt buckle with center inlay of turquoise, lapis and spiny oyster by Laguna/Hopi silversmith Duane Maktima. One of the leading contemporary Native American jewelers in the country, he has won over 200 awards beginning in 1974. His work is notable for its' original design, color combinations, and precise execution. This belt buckle measures 3" by 1 3/8" and weighs 52 grams. It is in fine original condition with no chips or cracks to the stones. Suitable for a man or woman. Signed with his mark used from 1974-1990. A very fine example of Maktima's talent.
