A remarkable sterling ring with a central stone of sodalite and side inlay of sodalite, lapis, onyx, and spiny oyster by Navajo silversmith Gibson Nez. This is a spectacular example of the work for which he is best known, impeccable inlay. Deceased on December 1,2007, he was a self taught silversmith who won the prestigious Smithsonian Medal of Honor, more than 700 blue ribbons, was featured in magazines and books and was a featured guest artist in many museums and galleries across the United States. The ring is a size 7 - 7 1/2 and is in fine original condition. No chips or cracks to the stones. The front of the rings is 1" wide. Signed as shown. A very striking and highly collectible piece.
