Bold, exquisitely hand crafted sterling ribbed bracelet with a center row of beading by Navajo silversmith Johnny Mike Begay. This is a beautiful variation of the "track" bracelet which he was credited for designing. Begay worked at the White Hogan Shop in Scottsdale, Arizona as well as privately and won numerous awards for his jewelry which can be found in many private and museum collections. His work was featured in the 2002 exhibit “Jewels of the Southwest” at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Measuring 5 1/2" around in the inside plus and additional 1 1/4" opening, it is 1 1/4" wide and weighs a very sturdy 96 grams. Fine original condition and signed as shown. A statement piece.
