Rare and magnificent 970 silver and amethyst bracelet by Taxco master silversmith Antonio Pineda. It is comprised of concave hinged silver links with a center rounded rod of amethyst. Circa 1955-60, the bracelet measures 6 1/2" around in the inside, is 1" wide and weighs 122 grams.The slide in clasp is tight and secure as is the attached safety chain. Fine original condition with no chips or cracks to the stones. Signed as shown. This Antonio design was included in the museum exhibit WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE and is pictured in the museum catalog by Penny Morrill on p. 209. A spectacular piece.
