Fantastic and rare traditional Hopi silver overlay pendant with center coral by Mission/Hopi Preston Monongye. This is his early work, before he began using the tufa cast technique. The pendant measures 2" diameter and the bail is 3/4" long. Hanging from a traditional Hopi sterling chain that is 24" end to end, the pendant is in fine original condition with no chips or cracks to the deep red coral. Total weight is 37 grams. Signed as shown. Preston Monongye pieces are included in many museum permanent collections including the Smithsonian Institute, the Heard Museum and the Denver Art Museum.
