A stunning sterling and turquoise necklace by Frank Patania Sr. (1899-1964). Born in Italy, this silversmith came to the U.S. at an early age settling in the Southwest and achieved great recognition for his blending of European and Native American design.This necklace is comprised of three segments with bezel set irregular shaped turquoise separated by silver beading set in a background of oxidation. Connected to the side panels are chain link that terminate with a simple hook closure. This necklace is in beautiful original condition, measures approximately 16" end to end, is 1 1/8" wide at the widest center part and weighs 70 grams. Signed for Frank Patania Sr. as shown.
