An astounding and extremely rare sterling pill box in the form of an articulated fish by William Spratling.The head of the fish opens to reveal a 1" deep compartment to keep whatever you wish. All of the scales move and make you feel sure that this fish can swim. Measuring 6 1/4" long and 2" at the widest point, it is in beautiful original condition and weighs 82 grams. It is signed with the WS script mark and eagle 30 which ,according to the spratlingsilver.com website, dates it c. 1951-56. A true objet d'art to be treasured.
