Exceptional, rare, sterling and rutilated quartz necklace designed by Vivianna Torun Bulow-Hube, c. 1960 ,for Georg Jensen Denmark. The pendant of sterling and 8 dangling drops of rutilated quartz measures 3 3/4" long and 3" wide. It is detachable from the torque which opens in the front and measures approximately 17" around in the inside. The necklace is all original and in excellent condition. The torque and the pendant are both signed and numbered as shown in the photos. A Torun torque necklace with pendant of amethyst drops is featured on page 162 of the Drucker book GEORG JENSEN A TRADITION OF SPLENDID SILVER. Torun ( 1927-2004 ) is the most internationally celebrated Swedish silversmith of the post war period. She believed her jewelry should be "sensuous body sculptures" and this piece is a celebration of that belief.
