Fantastic item. 1923 Yankees official 5 cent scorecard. Here is a real time warp item. Great ads to read (I wonder why Black Jack licorice chewing gum isn't around anymore?) but most significantly is Babe Ruth listed as batting third. Hitting cleanup behind Ruth is Wally Pipp. Listed as an infielder on the bench is Lou Gehrig. This was Gehrig's rookie season and Pipp is the unfortunate that had a headache one day in 1925. Gehrig was put in and never came back out until his health forced him out thousands of games later. Babe Ruth led the AL in home runs at 41 in this dead ball era year with the next guys at 29 and 18. No steroids, just hot dogs and beer. I have enjoyed owning this but I am not a Yankee fan and I think that is where it should go. Priced well below other examples of this rare item. First page is loose from staples but not torn. There is a nick on the paper edge visible in photos. Generally very clean and crisp. Something about ending after 8 innings is written across the scoring section but I think this adds a bit of character. Old writing for sure.
