This set of three hand made pins is really lovely. These were made to celebrate the victory of WWI. The two smaller pins are made for button holes and show Belgian colors and motif. Belgium, of course, was highly publicized as being victims of aggression for propaganda purposes. The first is actually embroidered with a lion rampant and must have required a lot of work. The button backing reads MODE DE PARIS. The second is painted with a nicely detailed rooster which I think refers to Walloon which is the French speaking portion of Belgium. The back reads 20 LIDLAL M DEPOSE. The last one is larger and painted with the various allied flags combined on two shields again over a background of Belgian colors. This one is designed to have a pin pushed sideways through with a pinch of shirt. A lovely set capturing the enthusiasm of victory. Price d right.
