Attractive American M1912 officer's cap. Nice clean cap with with good shape and a nice, period used look. Beside the wearer's left ear is a stretch of about 3 inches where the stitching is missing along the sweatband. This is not noticeable unless pulled at because the cap keeps its shape very crisply (Image 7). The maker logo in the silk lining is blurred and not readable (Image 4). Also, from left to right along the lining and just under the logo is some separation from solid use (Image 5). Unfortunately on the shell is a good sized moth nip on the top (Image 8), Another spot of damage to the fabric over the wearer's left ear (Image 9), a small hole between the vent holes by the wearer's right ear (Image 10) and a tiny moth nip at the rear (Image 11). A very nice cap with solid history behind it; Some damage but still quite respectable and certainly priced right.
