This Art Deco Chinese rug measures 9'10" x 13'10". It has an emerald green field with a lemon yellow border. The field is a great example of Art Deco design. It has a huge lotus blossoms at one end in gold pink yellow purple fuchsia and ivory. The design is spilling out into the lower border. Standing between the lotus blossoms is a purple incense burner on a pink stand with a dragon slithering out of the top. In the center of each border is a large fuschia almost half of a cartouche of flowers which seem to quarter the rug. A very interesting effect. At the center of the carpet is a nice drawn flowering branch at either side of the field flowing into the center in yellow pink purple brown and orange. It's a veritable riot of color! All this leads to the top of the carpet which has an almost picture frame treatment. The corners are very sharply drawn flowers and ribbons in the same colors. This is a unique rug and one of the most interesting Deco rugs I have seen in a long time. It has good pile and is clean and ready to go.
