Here for your buying consideration is a 10-inch precious antique Gebruder Heubach Baby Stuart. His original body is a seldom found mechanical novelty, that squeaks and claps his hands when the bellows is pressed in his torso! What a cutie!
He is Circa 1910. His head is a shoulder head model, with the mold number of 8226. To the back of his shoulder plate is the incised HEUBACH in a square with the marks GERMANY, and the small numbered green ink stamp. He is then mounted on a mechanical wooden torso, with wires going to the cardboard bellows mechanism and his arms. His arms are made of wood and his legs are composition baby legs.
He wears his original costume consisting of a linen baby frock with brown embroidered trim, lace at the wrists and two tiny red silk sewn areas to the bodice to represent buttons. Also his original lightweight muslin slip, with attached panties. I was unable to remove the frock, as I did not want to damage it in any way, and it would not easily move off of the elbow wired area of the body. So I have left it alone.
This Baby Stuart antique doll is GUARANTEED to be antique, with a PERFECT head and shoulder plate! He has a beautifully painted face with intaglio eyes and a lovely painted molded cap! Showing only slight losses to the flower areas. There's also a teeny spot to one cheek area, showing up in the photos more than in real life.
This little Baby Stuart antique doll would be a wonderful addition to any doll or toy collection!
