Lucien Gaillard Pourpre d'Automne Antique Perfume Bottle C 1922
Rare perfume bottle from the 1920's created by jewelry designer Lucien Gaillard.
The bottle features painted red poinsettia leaves, and black stems and berries over the entire surface of the bottle. There is a black painted band just below the top of the neck.
The words "Pourpre D'Automne" (Purple of Autumn) and "Violet Paris" also are painted in black on the bottle.
Lucien Gaillard was a contemporary of Lalique, although lesser known, but his perfume bottles are well known and sought after.
The bottle stands 3 1/2 inches (9 cm) tall and is 2 3/4 inches (6 cm) wide. It is marked, GL, on the bottom of the bottle.
The neck of the bottle does have a couple small chips, and the stopper has a small chip as well. Paint loss.
