Newcomb College Art Pottery bowl with Narcissus. The sharply carved design is done in yellow, white, blue, and green glazes by Sadie Irvine. Potter was Joseph Meyer. Mr. Meyer and Miss Irvine are considered to be two of the best of Newcomb College pottery. The bowl is fully marked with the cipher for Newcomb College, artist and potters ciphers, GN46 for production year 1914. The bowl measures 6.5 inches in diameter and is 3 1/2 inches in height. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or repairs. No damage, although the following manufacturing flaws are present; small firing blemish (photograph #2) and narrow area of glaze skip at the foot (photograph #3).
