An elegant blue-green faience offering cup with a fitted lid, conical in form with a flaring foot and shallow inner cavity. The cover fits exactly but is bluer in colour since it would have been made in a separate process.

New Kingdom - Ptolemaic period: Circa 1200-30 BC.

Complete and intact.
Height 3.9 cms (1.5 ins).

Provenance: Ex Katy Williams Pars Antique 1980's.

These offering cups contained the various sacred perfumed oils that were used during both funeral and daily rites. This little cup would have been a part of an offering tray where it would have been set on a base with similar vessels containing various sacred unguents.
