Description & Notes
The construction and sturdy potting of this platter is consistent with 18th century export platters made for the European market. However, the enameling on this piece suggests it was made later, circa early - mid 19th century. What is fascinating about this platter is that is seems to be an encyclopedia of various fishes found along the Chinese coast (well, during the 19th century any way.) Makes a quite attractive display.
