A striking Kangxi period blue and white covered jar, decorated with classic early 18th century motifs: crackled ice and plum blossom ground, diaper shoulder, and qilin beasts within landscaped cartouches. In Chinese, beast (shou) is a homonym for longevity (also shou) -- hence the "auspicious" beasts theme.
Wood cover included.
