Ca. 1700-20, early 18th c.
Kangxi Period, Qing Dynasty
Porcelain with overglaze famille verte enamels
Diameter: 21.5 cm / 8.5 in
From a Paris, France metropolitan area estate
A Kangxi famille verte plate decorated with a bird and flower scene in the court academic style of the day, with an accompanying seal. Due to the condition flaws of this piece, the price has been reduced to almost nothing (in perfect condition, this plate would be worth $1500-2500). Nonetheless, the paste and enamels of this piece is very typical of the Kangxi period; it could make an excellent study piece in any collection.
Condition: A faint 6.5 cm hairline extending from rim, various rim chips (about 4) and small fleabites. Typical Kangxi fritting to rim.
