An impressively crafted 19th century late Qing Chinese export silver footed plate, engraved in the center with a confident rendering of a sinuous dragon, and bordered with a marvelous pierced/reticulated cavetto featuring dragons amongst clouds. The silver workmanship is virtuosic in its attention to detail-- even the scales of the dragon are shown in crisp relief. The back is marked a "changtai" maker's mark.
Condition: Generally good antique condition. Some age-related surface wear and scratches (especially at the back). The plate front has a 1 cm indented scratch. There are no repairs or structural damage. [Please examine all photos carefully, as they are part of the condition report.]
