A very delicate and finely carved 17th c late Ming dynasty white jade hairpin, comprising of an elegant solid stem with with a slightly curving end connecting to a reticulated finial depicting a phoenix perched amongst flowers. A very similar hairpin is in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum (A.48-1938).
A box of antique pen tips are included. The tips can be removed and exchanged for different shapes and styles depending on your writing needs.
Condition: the visible portion of the hairpin is in good condition, however it has been modified in the 19th century into a ink pen handle. [Please examine all photos carefully, as they are part of the condition report.]
