This pair of Fu Dogs was used to decorate on the top part of an altar place (as you could see the notches at the bottoms) in an old Chinese house. Nicely standing with one leg on the ball, they were painted with red and gold colors.

Fu dogs are typical Chinese dogs with some appearances of lions. At the beginning, they were raised in the palace and among the elite groups of Chinese people. They were also the signal of loyalty.

Age: Chinese , Qing (Ching) dynasty, Circa 19th century

Measurement: Height 15.5 C.M., Width 13.5 C.M., Length 8 C.M.

Condition: One bears a natural crack on the front part while the other on the back.
