An exceptional Chinese painted pottery of foreign groom with dignified appearance, bulging eyes, high nose and long beard, wearing tunic and hat, clenching his hands, with red, black, brown and white pigments remaining. Thermoluminescence test from Oxford is included.
During the Tang Dynasty, a large number of people of Ouigour (huihe) origin from Tianshan region in Central Asia came to China to work as grooms.
