Of quatrelobed form with a central vertical panel on each side. One side is marked "zhai jie", the other in Manchu script. Bordered with a dense design of stylised lotus on a light green ground within raised gilt borders. The sides painted with scrolling foliage on a white ground with a bottom hole for a string of beads.

A Chinese Blanc de Chine model of the immortal Budai standing on a rocky outcrop. The corpulent divinity is shown wearing a simple patched robe fastened over the shoulder and slung under his ample stomach where it is fastened with floral pins. Large Chinese baluster vase done in tones of under-glaze blue. The scene on this vase goes all round it and is done between multiple layers of borders. The main scene is all plants and trees.

The inside is thinly glazed. The base rim is unglazed, as well as the base. From the pictures it looks rough, but it is quite smooth.

Garlic shaped mouth with twin turquoise ground handles supporting it. The flask is covered in flower heads and bats surrounding a shou character over a stylised lotus flower with other Buddhist emblems all outlined in gilt. The raised base with a palmette decoration below a scroll band.

The base rim has been left unglazed and the recessed base is covered in the same turquoise glaze surrounding a six character Qianlong mark in underglaze blue, it's background left unglazed.

Chinese antique turned wooden brush pot in Huanghuali wood. The pot tapers towards the triple beaded turned base, fashioned to look like a stand and has a slightly rolled top with a recessed base. No mark. Good patination of the wood.

Approximately 22 cm high by 17-1/5 cm diameter at widest point.

Good condition with normal signs of use.

Note: I have lightened some of the pictures up quite a bit so that the details of the grain of the wood can be seen.

Large antique Chinese porcelain bowl painted in underglaze blue with scholars and students in a fenced garden above a scroll border. The interior of the bowl has similar figures surrounded by a lattice border.

Dated to the 16th or early 17th century but does appear to have been made during the latter part of the Ming dynasty for export. A very nice example of this type of ware in underglaze blue.

Painted in mirror images with figures surrounded by buildings in a mountainous coastal landscape. The opposite side with grey birds perched upon a slender prunus. Each side and tops of the vase contain texts and poems. Buddhist lion ring side handles complete each vase.

Each vase stands approximately 14-1/4" high by 5-1/4" wide at its fullest point.

The base is recessed and contains a 4 character mark in red.
