Large antique Chinese porcelain bowl painted in underglaze blue with scholars and students in a fenced garden above a scroll border. The interior of the bowl has similar figures surrounded by a lattice border.
Dated to the 16th or early 17th century but does appear to have been made during the latter part of the Ming dynasty for export. A very nice example of this type of ware in underglaze blue.
This bowl is in good condition with the exception of the base rim which has fritting expected from over the years and displays beautiful in a wooden stand.
Condition: There are no cracks or breaks.
The bowl is 26 1/2 cm in diameter and 12 cm high.
