Interesting art moderne table cigarette lighter designed for RONSON by HARRY SITTERLE. This lighter dates from 1948 - 50. Although it was designed for a RONSON lighter it has a Evans lighter as found at a Long Island Estate. The lighter and base are a perfect fit and the lighter strikes when pressed. The base was made by ROSENTHAL SELD - PLOSSBERG GERMANY. The ceramic base is about 5 1/2" tall and is in perfect condition!!! With lighter it measures about 6 1/2" tall. Examples of ceramic items designed by HAROLD SITTERLE and his wife TRUDI are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in NYC!!!
