A Georgian colour twist wine glass with bell bowl above double knopped colour twist stem composed of an inner white gauze surrounded by three spiral tapes in red, green and blue, the red tape being backed with an opaque white tape, all standing on a plain conical foot. A frequent question often asked is, “Why are colour twist glasses so rare?” It is often thought that it is because they were more difficult to make. However, in fact they were no more difficult to make than white opaque twist stems. It would seem that their rarity is more likely to do with their perceived garish vulgarity at a time when refined classical taste was at its apex.

Height – 6⅛ inches;
Bowl diameter – 2⅜ inches;
Foot diameter – just under 3 inches.

In fine fettle with no condition issues.
