An example of the classic heavy baluster period toastmaster’s glass with a highly deceptive conical bowl of small capacity above an inverted baluster knop with a pleasingly centered and nicely shaped tear, standing on a conical folded foot. You may notice a slightly strange trick of the light surrounding the long, appendix like, tail of the bowl interior. Close inspection reveals it to be a tiny air bubble distorted by the thickness of the glass at this point (looking to all intents and purposes like a Hubble telescope photograph of a far distant galaxy!). The metal is the lovely oily grey tint one associates with early lead crystal heavy baluster glasses.

Height 4⅞ inches;
Bowl diameter 1⅞ inches;
Foot diameter 2½ inches.

In great condition with no restoration. There is some staining in the bowl “tail” which could be removed with a bit of ingenuity. On the other hand it could just be considered to be a part of its fascinating history.
