A particularly impressive and beautifully proportioned Kit-Cat type baluster wine glass with flared drawn trumpet bowl above an inverted baluster knop with a nicely formed and centered tear standing on domed plain foot. This is a high quality glass, solidly made from a greyish metal with high lead content. As a result the glass feels reassuringly heavy in the hand and has the typical unctuous feel associated with this type of metal. A similar, but less satisfactory glass, without the tear, is pictured in Bickterton’s “Drinking Glasses” p. 81 fig. 117.

Height 7¼ inches;
Bowl diameter 2¾ inches;
Foot diameter Just under 3 inches.

The glass is in good original condition and has the usual collection of small inclusions signs of wear to the foot and bowl rims.
