This outstanding glass is a rare example of the light baluster style associated with Newcastle on Tyne. The heavy-based bell bowl is supported on a light baluster stem with of a rare ‘drop knop’, above a true baluster knop standing on a folded conical foot.
Height 6 inches;
Bowl diameter 2½ inches;
Foot diameter 2⅞ inches.
The glass is in excellent condition with no restoration or damage. Light wear to the foot and bowl rims. The glass has a few insignificant air inclusions in the foot and there is a small tear in the base of the bowl which is nicely centred and so difficult to know if it was intentional or not
