This very well carved early 20th century Japanese netsuke is 1 ¼ inches high, 1 ¾ inches wide and 1 1/8 inches thick. It depicts a demon sitting in a straw sandal. It is signed “Masatsugu” and is in great condition.

This 19th century Japanese wood netsuke of NASUBI (eggplants) in a basket is 5/8 of an inch tall and 1½ inches wide. It was carved from KOKUTAN (ebony) and is not signed. It depicts one large eggplant and two smaller ones setting in a woven basket. It is in excellent condition.

This rare Japanese bronze incense burner is a mid or late Meiji period product. It depicts a crane resting on an upside down lotus leaf. A small snail is sitting on the leaf as well. The hollow body of the crane is used as burner; the wings can be removed to put incense inside. The open beak and small holes under the feathers will let the smoke out. There is a polished bronze inlay crest on the crane’s head and small bronze points on the feathers...

This famille-rose water jar is 2 ¼ inches tall and 2 ¾ inches wide. It is dated and signed to the Tong Zhi period (1862~1874). The four hand-painted pictures represent the four seasons. Hibiscus is the symbol of spring, willow for summer, peony for autumn and plum blossoms for winter. The color, especially the gold, is slightly worn. It is in great condition.

This Chinese pink glazed vase is a mid 19th century product. The entire body is covered with a soft rosy pink glaze, commonly called du Barry rouge. The Chinese name for the shape of this kind of vase is “Tian Qiu Vase” 天 球 瓶. It is 8” high and 5” wide measured from the widest part. It has an honorable “Yong Zhong” 雍 正 (1723~1735) mark on the bottom. It is in excellent condition. More detailed photos are available.

This small 19th century Chinese carved nephrite cup is 3 ¼” long 1 ½” high and 1 ¾’ on its widest part. The cup was carved to look like an old bronze vessel. A dragon (or beast) head is carved on the top of the handle and belt like “Ru Ding” design encompasses the entire body. Aside a tiny indentation on its rim, it is in great condition.

This 19th century Japanese unsigned hardwood okimono of SENNIN (hermit or immortal) is 2 1/8 inches tall, 1 inch wide and 1 ¼ inches in depth. Middle 19th century Chinese white jade rectangular lock on a carved wood stand with incised decoration on both sides. One side has four Chinese characters which read ¡°prosperity for entire family¡±; the other side is a peony design in the center with a garden scene around it. The jade is 3 ½ inches wide, 2 ¾ inches high (5 inches tall with stand) and ¼ inches thick. There is a chip on the corner of the stand. It is in excellent condition.

This well cast Meiji period Japanese bronze vase is 10 ¾ inches tall and 4 inches in diameter at its widest. It depicts a wild goose flying away from the moon. The moon is silver inlaid and the goose is silver overlay on top of the bronze body. The goose eye and feet is gold. There is a maker¡¯s seal on the bottom, it reads ¡°Kyoto, made by Kuroda¡±. There are a few scratches on the body and lighter color around the moon due to cleaning.
