19th century nephrite carving of a bearded Zhong-Kui (ghost eater). His right hand is holding a fan; his left hand is raised up holding his hat. Under his left foot is a demon begging for his life. This early 20th century ivory carving of a maiden is 15 7/8” high (17 ½” with base), 3 ½” wide and 2 7/8” thick. She wears a simple and elegant robe and holds a bouquet of flowers in front of her. The carving is superb and has nice patina. The wood base is a later made piece. Aside from some small hair line cracks due to its age, the statue is in great condition. This very well carved late 19th century ivory netsuke is 1 ¼” high, 2 ¼” wide and 2“ thick. It depicts an old samurai’s metal helmet decorated with shi-shi (lion) head on top. The helmet is situated on an opened paper fan. There are a dozen mice with inlaid eyes on the helmet playing and chasing each other. It seems that symbols of war and peace, the helmet and the fan, are brought together and put in their place by nibbling mice. The workmanship is just superb...
This is a rare late Ming dynasty (1368~1615) carved bamboo statue. It depicts a bearded warrior on a horse. The rider¡¯s head is raised up, eyes wide open; his left arm is gently holding the bridle. The tired horse has turned its head toward its master. It is a superb carving and in great condition despite its age. H: 12 inches, L: 7 inches, W: 6 inches

This is a 19th century Japanese imitation of a Chinese cloisonne bowl. It has a white background and fish, horse and floral design on both the exterior and interior. There is a square brass seal reading ¡°imitate Ming¡± on the bottom. In this case, ¡°Ming¡± is a general name for Chinese or Mandarin. It is 10 inches in diameter and 4 ¾ inches tall. Good condition.

This rare Japanese bronze incense burner is a mid or late Meiji period product. It depicts a crane resting on an upside down lotus leaf. A small snail is sitting on the leaf as well.
