This very nice carved hard stone brush rest is a mid or late 19th century product. It is 6” long, 2 3/8” high and 1 ¼” thick. It depicts a reclining ewe facing her young kid; both of them are holding a branch of LingZhi (靈芝) in their mouths. It is very well carved and designed. It is in great condition.

This pair of carved ivory seals is an early 20th century product. They are 1 7/16” high and 1” square. They are carved as a pair of reclining lions (or Foo dogs) holding globes. This rectangular jade (nephrite) pendant is 2 3/8" long, 1 5/8" wide and 3/8" thick. It is an early 20th century product. It is carved on both sides as two stylized phoenix facing each other. It is in great condition.

This rectangular grayish jade (nephrite) plaque is 1 ¾” long, 2 3/4” wide and 3/16” thick. It is a late 19th century product. It is carved as a dragon in the center, two flower blossoms and two leaves are on the four corners and a curly pattern swirls around the dragon. Though it is a thin piece, it was carved very skillfully and carefully into a two layered object. Aside from a tiny chip on one side, it is in great condition.

This jade (nephrite) carving of a reclining water buffalo and boy is 2 ¼” high, 3” wide and 2 3/8” thick. It is a late 19th century product. It depicts a young boy holding peach branches trying to climb a reclining water buffalo. Aside from some natural blemishes on the bottom, it is in great condition.

This late Meiji white molded ceramic netsuke is 1 5/8” long, 1” high and 1 ¼” wide. It depicts a reclining Shi Shi (lion) with its mouth wide open and a loose ball inside. Aside from some tiny black spots due to the firing, it is in very good condition.

This jade (nephrite) carving of a reclining Foo dog is 2 ¾” long, 1 5/8” high and 1” wide. It is an early 20th century product. The carving is very simple but elegant and it is in great condition.

This late 19th century Chinese jade (nephrite) carving of a reclining camel and foreign grooms is 2 ¾” high, 4 ¼” long and 2” thick. It depicts a reclining camel turning its head to the three grooms; one is climbing on the camel’s hump while the other two are leaning on its side. It is in great condition.

This carved hardwood cup is 5” high, 4 ½” wide, 3 3/4” thick (both measured from the top). It is an early 20th century product. It depicts three sages surrounded by a river scene. Two sages and their young servant are on a boat; one sage is standing on the river bank. A huge rock, an old pine tree and some unknown trees make the scene very peaceful. Aside from a few small crack lines due to the age of the wood, it is in great condition.

This rectangular jade (nephrite) pendant (or plaque) is 3 ¼” long, 2” wide and 3/16” thick. It is an early 20th century product. It is carved on both sides as a stylized dragon surrounded by Ling Zhi (lucky mushroom). Aside from a small chip (less than 1/8” long) on the side, it is in good condition.

This interesting and finely carved Japanese ivory okimono is a mid-19th century product. It is 6” high, 2” wide and 1” thick. It depicts one adult and one youngster engaged in folk dancing. The man is wearing a traditional hat called “Kazaori Eboshi.” He has raised his two arms up and is holding drum mallets. The boy is holding a paper fan. This rare and unusual ivory carving of a sage is an early 20th century product. It is 10” high (with fitted hard wood base, it is 11” high), 3 ½” wide and 3” thick both measured from bottom. This image is the great Chinese herbalist and acupuncturist Li Shi-Zhen (李 時 珍, 1518~1593). Li Shi-Zhen is considered to be one of the greatest naturalists in China. This very well carved ivory okimono of a Chinese merchant is a late Meiji period product. It is 5” high, 2” wide and 1 ½” thick at the thickest part. It depicts a Chinese merchant with his hands in his sleeves, resting them in front of him. The artist did a great job on his facial expression and dress which includes a typical Chinese old fashioned two piece robe and hat. His goatee and long pigtail make this merchant more interesting and realistic...

This early 20th century ivory carving of a maiden is 15 7/8” high (17 ½” with base), 3 ½” wide and 2 7/8” thick. She wears a simple and elegant robe and holds a bouquet of flowers in front of her. The carving is superb and has nice patina. The wood base is a later made piece. Aside from some small hair line cracks due to its age, the statue is in great condition. This late 19th century export white porcelain duck is 7 ½” long, 4 7/8” high and 4” wide. It has a white body and beige beak and feet. Aside from some tiny blisters due to the firing, it is in great condition.

This Japanese walrus tusk carving of a young maiden is a late-19th century or early 20th century product. It is 7 ¼” high (8 7/8” high with wood base) and 2 ¾” wide. It depicts a young maiden holding a long necked vase in one hand and a long stemmed flower in her other hand. There is a tall stand beside her with an incense burner. The statue is permanently mounted on the carved wood base. It is in great condition.

This nicely executed silver alloy tea pot is a late-19th century product. It is 8” high (9 ½” high with handle extended) and 9” wide at the spout. The body is 6 ¼” wide. The famous 8 immortals and their symbols appear over the entire hexagonal body and cover. The spout is the shape of a mythical animal, PiXie. The knob on the cover of the teapot is a seated PiXie. There is an honorable mark “Great Qing Qian Long” stamped on the bottom. It is in great condition.

This very well carved and designed carved bamboo root brush washer is an early-20th century product. It is 1 7/8” high and 5 7/8” wide (measured from the widest part). It depicts old pine trees with a crane resting on one of the limbs. According to Chinese tradition, pine trees and cranes represent longevity. It is in great condition.
