This very well-carved lapis of a fairy (Ma Gu) is 8 ¾” high (with fitted wood base, it is 10 ¼” high), 8 ¼” wide and 2” thick. It depicts Ma Gu, the beautiful, young fairy who always brings joy to a birthday celebration. Her right hand is holding a platter containing a wine bottle, peaches, Buddha-hand citron and pomegranates. A boy and girl holding a giant peach with both hands are standing near her. The massive stone carving of a stump of a tree is a 1970’s, 1980's product. It depicts two large beetles sitting on the top of a rotted stump; their eggs are nearby. Some fungus and mushrooms are growing from the top and sides of the stump. Several leaves lay on the side as well. The carving is superbly realistic. It is 6 ½” high, 7 ½” wide from the widest part and 8” thick. It is in excellent condition.

This very well carved lapis lazuli water bowl is 2 ¾” high, 6” long and 3 ½” wide. It depicts a young boy and a small dragon tortoise riding on the back of a large dragon tortoise. A tiny tortoise sits inside the water bowl which is formed from the back of the large dragon tortoise. The piece is accompanied by a black silk brocade box. This well carved stone laughing Buddha is 3 ¼” high (with wood base is 5” high), 4 ¾” wide and 2” in depth. It depicts a laughing Buddha (Budai in Chinese; Hotei in Japanese) comfortably leaning on his ever present cloth sack. His left hand holds a ruyi scepter; his right hand holds a gold nugget. A young boy is resting on the Buddha’s right knee. Aside from natural blemishes on the back of the statue and two crack lines in the wood base, it is in great condition.

This large carved ivory vessel with handle is a mid 20th century product. It has a dragon shaped handle and nine dragons, clouds and ocean wave motif covering its body. It is 13 ½” high, 10 1/8” wide from the widest part and 4 ½” thick from the middle part. There are two repaired crack lines along the side of the vessel. Because the crack lines are on the side, they are not obvious. There is a honorific Qian Long mark on the bottom.

This Chinese ivory carving of an open clam is a mid 20th century product. There are nine people resting, walking or sitting on a cart inside the clam. They are surrounded by pine trees. This Chinese Famille Rose brush holder is 5” high and 3 11/16” in diameter. It depicts an old sage and his young servant in a garden. The Chinese title of the picture is "Mr. Yuan-Ming admires chrysanthemum blossoms." The date on the side of the brush holder is winter, 1925. The artist’s name is Tu Zhu-Zhung. There is a red maker’s mark on the bottom which says New China Company, Nan-Chang City. It is in excellent condition.

This very nicely molded mid 20th century Guan-Yin statue is 9 5/8” high, 5 ¼” wide and 2 ½” thick. It depicts Guan-Yin holding a Ruyi seated on a lotus surrounded rock. This mid 20th century carved ivory netsuke of a sumo wrestler is 2 ¼” high, 1 ¼” wide and 1” thick. It depicts a sumo wrestler dressed the traditional outfit staring straight ahead, ready to fight. The expression on his face is just great. The signature “Yoshido” is on his left foot. Aside of some color that has been rubbed off, it is in excellent condition.
