This finely fired tall guinomi (sake nomi) with numerous surface firing effects was made by Isezaki Koichiro (1974~), son of Living National Treasure Isezaki Jun. Koichiro studied with prominent American artist Jeff Shapiro and with Jun's most famous apprentice Kakurezaki Ryuichi. He is a very talented rising star and recently had one of his chawan exhibited at the prestigious show "About the Tea Ceremony" in the Tokyo Museum of Modern Art Craft Gallery. It is 3 ¼” high and 2” in diameter. The artist’s signature is on the side of the original wood box; his mark is on the bottom of the sake cup. It is in excellent condition.
