This very nice Kuro (black) Bizen guinomi (sake cup) was from the last firing by master potter Masamune Moriyasu before his death a few years ago. He is also known as Satoru and Kengo. The sake cup is 1 ½” high and 3” wide from the widest part. As with the Nakamura family, he was a potter of traditional wares and was very highly thought of in Japan. This guinomi is nicely shaped and has a fine surface with ash deposits from the firing. The artist name and seal are on the top of the original wood box; his mark is on the bottom of the sake cup. It is in excellent condition.
