The ash glazed guinomi (sake cup) was made by Kako Katsumi. Kako (b. 1965) came from a family of commercial potters from Kyoto, but decided at an early age to become an art potter. He is highly thought of by several Japanese ceramic magazines and has won the grand prize at the prestigious Tea Forms Exhibition in Japan. It is 2” high and 3” wide. It comes with a signed box and it is in excellent condition.
