A winter scene print by noted watercolorist and illustrator, Howard Watson. Watson was the "Artist in Residence" at the White House during the Carter Administration.There are tiny thumbtack punctures at the very end corners of the print(not impacting the print and not visible). Professionally framed, the print measures approximately 23" x 20" (probably larger but not measured out of frame). The frame itself is 28-1/2" x 25".

Stated "One of twenty" prints by illustrator and children's book publisher. Helena Chase Johnson. The print is also marked "For Norman" along with her signature. An interesting note -- Chase owned The Little Hotel by the Sea (located at the Grande Colonial Hotel in La Jolla, Calif.) The hotel boasted of having a beautiful six-passenger mahogany elevator, making it "The Littlest Hotel in the World with an Elevator."

Parish was born in Rhode Island, studied at Académie Julian in Paris, and subsequently moved to Cape Cod, MA where he painted during the 20s and 30s. In 1937, after his wife's death, he moved to CA. Matted but unframed. The picture measures approximately 6-1/2" x 4-1/2".
