A lovely little book written by Booth Tarkington and with colored illustrations by Ruth Sypherd Clements. The red linen boards feature a blind stamped holly design and gilt lettering. Published by Harper & Brothers 1909. Copyright page indicates October 1909 (unstated first edition). The illustrations are crisp and the booth is in fine condition. An old price noted in pencil on the free paper.

Tan paper cover featuring a red and black pictorial design. The front and back covers have small tears, smudges and have separated. The pages are uncut and one or two have small tears. Acceptable condition with no script.121 pp.

Riverside edition published by Houghton Mifflin Company in 1882. Red ribbed cloth boards show some wear especially at the corners and the uncut pages are gilt at the top. One page has obvious toning otherwise a nice tight edition. Steel engravings. 528 pp.

The book has green decorative boards with gilt design and lettering on the tan spine. Published by Yale in 1927. Illustrated with plates. Former library copy with stamps. The front free paper is clipped, a corner text block is smudged and the boards show wear especially at the edges, and there is a very small tear on the bottom of one page. Sold as is.

Written by Esther Stevens Brazer, this is a Memorial (Second) Edition published in 1947 by the Pond-Ekberg Company. The gray linen boards show some wear with creases at the corners, and the gilt pastedown label is smudged. The front free paper is clipped and the pages are uncut. This lot includes three Anthony Trollope books all published by Dodd Mead & Co., New York. Phineas Redux Vol. I was published in 1913 and Vol. III in 1910. Dr. Thorne Vol.I was published in 1914. The owner's name is inscribed on the front free paper of all three books and the red boards show modest wear.

A signed( "Happy New Year James Farley") hardcover published by Harcourt Brace & Company, NY December 1939. The jacket has a water stain on the inside flap and a faint stain on the edge of the first few pages stops at the title page.392 pp.

The cover shows light wear, an owner's name in pencil is on the free paper and the book is slightly cocked. Pages 235 on have some type of very faint stain at the corners. 7¾" - 9¾" 294pp.
