This volume has long been considered the quintessential work on the pottery of the Holy Land and continues to remain so today. Despite covering an expansive period of time, Amiran nonetheless is able to provide a detailed analysis of the many forms of pottery present in Palestine during each period, as well as taking time to discuss the multicultural nature of the region and its effects on the pottery produced there.
A must have for anyone, professional or amateur, who wishes to study the pottery of the Holy Land. Although long out of print, its relevance to the discipline is still very much alive as both a starting point for further research and a constant reference companion.
