Khmer 11th - 12th Century Glazed Stoneware Bottle

This very rare pear-shaped bottle was made during the 11th -12th Century. It is quite "heavily-potted" and is coated in a dark brown glaze, the colour of which varies according to its thickness, being at its thickest around the mouth and upper neck, and at its thinnest toward the lower body. The glaze falls short of the flat base to reveal the pale grey stoneware body. There is some surface wear and an obvious kiln scar to the lower body, but...

Khmer 9th - 10th Century Glazed Stoneware Bottle

This small stoneware bottle was made during the 9th -10th Century. It is coated in a very pale and finely-crackled greenish-white glaze that has flaked from the surface in places, this being typical of early Khmer glazes. The body is a little under-fired, being absorbent, and has fired to a pale pinkish-white where unglazed toward the flat base. On opposing sides of the shoulder are two small thick loop handles. Khmer 10th - 11th Century Glazed Stoneware Bottle

This very rare pear-shaped bottle was made during the 10th -11th Century. It is quite "heavily-potted" and is coated in a thin greyish-green glaze that falls short of the flat base to reveal the pale grey stoneware body.
